Hey!
I hope you're doing well!
POETRY & CHRISTMAS NOVELLA
I just finished drafting my Christmas novella. I started this story years ago and only work on it each winter. Now that the draft is complete, I'll be revisiting it later this year hoping to edit and release it.
I’d share more about it but I'm sure you're quite done with Christmas for a while.
I'm also still writing poetry. I love seeing my little notebook fill up. I can actually see them improving the more I learn and it's so exciting! I think it's also improving the prose in my books.
I love how every art form can build on another. It's an amazing thing.
TAROT (& tarot-like) TABLETOP GAMES
In case you missed it, we released a tarot-like game called, The Ghost Who Brings Me Flowers. This is a one-page solo TTRPG. All you need is a deck of playing cards and a place to write. (I drew the art too, and I was very happy with the way it came out! I love that blue, pink, and orange.)
Every month, on a day you least expect, a flower appears. Tucked into your coat pocket, left on your windowsill, pressed between the pages of a book you haven’t opened in years. You’ve caught a glimpse of the spectral figure, and you know they’re trying to tell you something. Over the course of a year, you’ll receive these gifts, contemplate their meanings, and piece together their artful message. As the seasons change, maybe you will too—until, at last, you come face to face with the one who’s been guiding you all along.
MORE TAROT
I’m now working on a tarot game I don't think I've talked about here before.
I've been wanting to finish this game just because I wanted to play through it entirely. I only play in pieces to test it while I make the game and I refine as I go.
If you're interested in myth and legend, cozy port towns, and Song of the Sea vibes, I think you'd really enjoy it.
If you’d like to keep up with our games you can follow our blog or any of our socials here.
COZY SCI-FI RECOMMENDATIONS
CITIZEN SLEEPER
I recently became absolutely obsessed with Citizen Sleeper. I was looking for yet another cozy sci-fi game, and that one hit the bullseye for me.
The story was heavy in places and it forces you to make impossible decisions that just gave me chills. But I still found most of it incredibly cozy.
I was having sci-fi dreams every night while playing because it was all I could think about. I'm looking forward to getting the second game.
NO MAN’S SKY
I've also gotten back into No Man's Sky recently. I play on peaceful so animals only attack if I attack first (which is never). It physically hurts me to even attack animals in games 😂
I found a crashed ship and I've been repairing it over time as I find components. It's so satisfying when you get exactly what you need to fix a part. And I think it creates an intentional bonding between you and your ship. Reminds me of Spensa and M-Bot in the Skyward Series.
That's a sneaky recommendation, by the way. I hadn't expected it to come up, but it's a great series if you're like me and want easy-to-understand epic sci-fi.
This is probably THE coziest game I've ever played. It's so beautiful and whimsical and often reminds me of Hilda which is probably why I like it so much.
THANK YOU
Thanks as always for being here! I hope you have a great month!
